This DMCA Policy explains how Merlf.com (“Merlf”, “we”, “us”) handles copyright takedown requests under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), and also how character owners can request removal of character assets shown on our site.

Merlf is a tool that lets users upload audio and generate animated video outputs. Users are responsible for the audio they upload and how they use the results.

WHERE TO SEND REQUESTS
Send DMCA notices and character takedown requests to:

• “Character / Music Takedown Request” (character owner and music owner request)

1. CHARACTER / MUSIC TAKEDOWN REQUESTS

If you are an owner (or authorized representative) of a character, design, brand, or music and you want it removed from Merlf (for example: a character or music listed on our site), you can request removal even if it’s not a classic DMCA copyright notice.

Send your request to support@merlf.com with subject “Character / music Takedown Request” and include:

A) Your contact info

• Full legal name

• Company/brand name (if applicable)

• Email address

B) Proof you own or represent the rights
Provide at least one of the following:

• link to your official website or official social profile showing ownership

• copyright registration or official documentation (if available)

• a statement explaining your ownership and your role (owner/agent/lawyer)

C) What exactly you want removed

• The character/music name

• Links (URLs) or screenshots of where it appears on Merlf

• Any details that help us locate it

D) What action you want

• remove the character from selection

• remove the music from platform

​

E) Statement (copy/paste)
“I confirm that I am the owner of the rights (or authorized to act on behalf of the owner) for the character/music identified above, and I am requesting its removal from Merlf.”

2. HOW WE HANDLE CHARACTER/MUSIC TAKEDOWNS

After we receive a valid character/music takedown request, we may:

• (for music takedown) remove the music from our site totally

• (for character takedown) remove and disable creation using that character going forward 

​

Note: (for character takedown) If users already created videos using that character before removal, we may not be able to delete all copies that are already downloaded or posted elsewhere. However, we will take reasonable steps to remove the asset from our platform and prevent future use.

FALSE CLAIMS WARNING

Submitting false takedown requests may have legal consequences. Only submit a request if you are the rights owner or authorized to act for them.
