PRIVACY POLICY – MERLF.COM

This Privacy Policy explains what information Merlf.com (“Merlf”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. QUICK SUMMARY

  • We collect basic account info (like your email) so you can sign in and use Merlf.

  • We process the audio you upload to generate your animated video.

  • We delete your uploaded audio from our backend immediately after your result is created.

  • We store your generated output videos in your account “History” so you can stream/download them later and check processing status.

  • We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and improve performance.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

A) Account informationWhen you create an account, we may collect:

  • email address

  • username (if you set one)

  • your plan type (Free/Starter/Pro)

  • your available seconds/credits and usage

  • ​

B) Uploaded audio (input)
When you use Merlf, you upload audio. We use it only to generate your animation result.

C) Generated videos (output)
We store the videos you generate in your account “History” so you can:

  • stream or download past videos

  • see processing status if you closed the processing page

  • keep a record of what you created

D) Payment information
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. Merlf does not store your full card details. We may receive basic purchase info such as:

  • purchase amount

  • plan purchased

  • transaction/reference ID

  • payment status (successful/failed/refunded)

E) Usage & technical data
Like most websites, we may collect basic technical information such as:

  • device type and browser

  • IP address (used for security and fraud prevention)

  • pages visited and actions on the site

  • error logs and performance data

F) Google Analytics data
We use Google Analytics to measure and understand website usage (like page views, time on site, device type, and general location). Google Analytics may use cookies or similar tracking technologies.

 

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account

  • provide the Service (generate your animated videos)

  • show your processing status and store outputs in your History page

  • track your seconds/credits and plan access

  • process purchases and prevent fraud

  • improve performance and fix bugs

  • keep the platform safe and stop abuse

  • respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information.

4. AUDIO DELETION (INPUT FILES)
Merlf deletes your uploaded audio from our backend immediately after your result is created.

Note: while your job is processing, your audio may exist temporarily in processing storage or memory. Very short-lived technical logs may exist for reliability/security, but we do not keep your audio as stored content once the result is delivered.

5. OUTPUT VIDEO STORAGE (HISTORY PAGE)
Your generated videos are stored in your account History page so you can stream/download them later and check job status.

A) How long do we keep output videos? 

  • “We keep videos until you delete them.”

6. COOKIES (INCLUDING GOOGLE ANALYTICS)
Merlf uses cookies or similar technologies to:

  • keep you logged in

  • remember basic settings

  • improve performance and security

  • measure site traffic using Google Analytics

You can control cookies in your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of Merlf may not work properly.

Google Analytics is provided by Google and may collect information through cookies and similar tools. You can learn more about Google’s data practices in Google’s own policies and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out tools.

7. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
We only share information when needed to run Merlf, for example:

  • Payment processing: Dodo Payments

  • Analytics: Google Analytics

  • Hosting/storage/technical services: (edit) (example: Wix, storage provider, logging tools)

  • Legal reasons: if required by law or to protect Merlf, users, or the public

We share only what’s necessary.

8. HOW LONG WE KEEP DATA

  • Uploaded audio: deleted immediately after the result is created

  • Account information: kept while you have an account

  • Output videos: stored per the History rule in section 5

  • Payment records: kept as needed for accounting, refunds, fraud prevention, and legal requirements

  • Security logs / analytics: kept for a reasonable period for security and performance (edit if you want a number)

9. YOUR CHOICES

You can:​

  • request account deletion by emailing us

  • control cookies through your browser settings

10. SECURITY
We use reasonable security measures to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep Merlf safe.

11. CHILDREN
Merlf is not intended for children under 13 years old. If you believe a child provided personal info, contact us and we’ll handle it.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make major changes, we’ll update the effective date at the top.
